Oil separator MPEB

Filtration Group (Formerly MAHLE Industrial Filtration) Industriefiltration refers to its series of continuously operating bilge water oil separators for maritime use as multiphase emulsion breakers (MPEB).

In an MPEB, both separation phases are located in one pressure vessel. This results in the following system advantages:

• Compact and flexible design with modular construction. Three types, two options for pump location, and various sizes are available. Individualized customer designs are also available upon request.
• Simple to operate. The systems switch on automatically as soon as a specific water level is reached in the bilge water tank.
• No moving parts. The MPEB also works at ambient temperature.
• Reduced operating costs. The MPEB lowers operating costs because no chemicals, filter elements, absorption processes, or backflushes are used.
• Technical support: All spare parts are available internationally. Our employees are available all over the world—thanks to our own service network.

Small oil droplets collect on the lower edge of the MPS profile, and flow together to form larger drops. These flow upward into the oil dome, and then on into the waste oil tank.

A coalescence effect takes place in the microfiber nonwoven mat, which is made of several layers of microfibers of various thicknesses of a special oleophilic material (a material that "loves" oil).
