Industry > Automotive The Automotive Industry is one of the world's most important economic sectors by revenue. With the ever growing demand for higher performance and fuel economy, the pursuit for advanced technology and precision engineering in the components and parts has never seized. On the other hand, the greatest source of air pollution in urban area is vehicles. In many cities, it is estimated that as much as 90 percent of dust and smoke particles present in the air are emitted by vehicles. These emissions also contain harmful gases, such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides. In these context, the selection of an efficient and problem free filtration solution must be place with top emphasis.
For more than 90 years, our partner MAHLE has played a decisive role in promoting the development of automotive and engine technology, setting standards time and again. Driven by performance—every MAHLE employee demonstrates surpassing enthusiasm for performance, precision, and perfection. MAHLE has a local presence in all major world markets. More than 47,000 employees work at over 100 production plants and eight research and development centers in Stuttgart, Northampton, Detroit (Farmington Hills, Novi), Tokyo (Kawagoe, Okegawa), Shanghai, and São Paulo (Jundiaí). Around the world, approximately 3,000 development engineers and technicians are working on forward-looking concepts, products, and systems for the ongoing development of vehicle power trains. Almost all automobile and engine manufacturers around the world are customers of MAHLE.

Compressed Natural Gas
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a leading source of alternative fuel for the automotive industry and is gaining popularity for powering domestic cars, commerical vehicles and passenger buses. CNG is less expensive than petroleum and diesel and more environmentally friendly as it reduces the amount of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and carbon dioxide found in exhaust emissions. Just like traditional fuels, CNG is prone to contaminants such as solids collected from handling, condensed water from storage tanks and compressor lube oil which if untreated may pass into the delivery system. Micrafilter design and manufacture a range of filtration products to overcome these problems as well as also helping to protect against compressor fouling, gas treatment process contamination, equipment corrosion and excessive maintenance.

Emissions
Air quality targets are becoming increasingly more important to local and national governments. As emissions monitoring becomes more stringent, technology becomes increasingly complex and sensitive. Using the correct filtration will help to protect all control and sensing devices resulting in increased accuracy and reduced breakdowns. Our partners - Micrafilter design, manufacture and supply a range of filtration products to some of the largest emissions analyser monitoring equipment manufacturers in the world for use at vehicle emission test stations and air quality monitoring stations.
